Worship Pastor
Job Description
Worship Leadership Plan, lead, and shepherd weekly worship services at the church. Assist in the arrangement and preparation of worship music. Lead rehearsals, providing musical direction for vocalists and instrumentalists. Collaborate with pastoral staff to ensure worship elements support the message and overall service vision. Work alongside church leadership to align on song selection, team development, and production. Coordinate with technical teams to ensure a cohesive worship experience (sound, lighting, and media). Pastoral Ministry & Shepherding Provide spiritual leadership to the worship team through prayer, discipleship, and relational care. Model biblical character and shepherd volunteers with compassion and integrity. Offer pastoral care, prayer, and support to congregants as needed. Participate in regular pastoral rhythms, meetings, and ministry efforts. Volunteer Development & Team Building Recruit, equip, and empower volunteers for worship ministry roles. Mentor musicians and vocalists both spiritually and musically. Foster a healthy, unified culture among worship team members. Schedule volunteers and manage service plans through appropriate planning tools. Service Planning & Collaboration Attend weekly (or regular) service planning meetings. Contribute creative and theological input for services and special events. Help coordinate special services (holidays, worship nights, etc.) alongside leadership. General Requirements Demonstrates musical proficiency (vocals and/or instruments). Strong pastoral heart with a shepherding mindset. Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills. Ability to recruit, lead, and care for volunteers and staff. Strong understanding of worship theology and Scripture. Spiritual Requirements Meet the biblical qualifications for pastoral leadership as outlined in 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:5-9, demonstrating integrity, self-control, humility, and a life above reproach. Model a consistent daily walk with Jesus Christ in attitude, speech, and actions. Demonstrate the importance of Bible study, prayer, evangelism, and Christian fellowship. Pray with and support volunteers and congregants in times of need. Provide spiritual resources and guidance to those seeking help.
