Lead Pastor / Elder Board Position Summary The Worship Leader is responsible for planning, leading, and cultivating a meaningful, Christ-centered worship experience for weekly services and special events. Given the size and structure of our congregation, this role extends beyond music leadership into broader ministerial responsibilities, serving alongside the pastoral team to support the spiritual growth and pastoral care of the congregation. This position is well-suited for someone who feels called to both musical, worship leadership and hands-on ministry involvement in a broader church setting. Key Responsibilities Worship Leadership (Primary Focus) Plan, prepare, and lead congregational worship for weekly services and special services (Easter, Good Friday, Christmas Eve, baptisms and funerals, etc.) Select songs that align with sermon themes, the liturgical calendar, and the congregation's spiritual needs Recruit, schedule, rehearse, and shepherd a volunteer worship team (vocalists, musicians) Mentor and disciple emerging worship team members and volunteers Oversee sound, media, and audiovisual needs for services, either directly or by coordinating volunteers/tech staff Collaborate weekly with the Senior Pastor to align worship flow with the sermon and service order Maintain and manage instruments, sound equipment, and any CCLI/licensing requirements Manage the posting of the online service(s) Church Wide Leadership Support the Senior Pastor in sermon planning discussions or occasionally preach/teach as needed Assist with planning and executing church-wide events (fellowship gatherings, outreach events, retreats) Participate in staff meetings and contribute to overall church vision and strategy Pastoral care visits within worship ministries (hospital visits, home visits, member check-ins) Additional Ministerial Responsibilities (as needed for a full-time role) These responsibilities may be assigned based on the needs of the church and the candidate's gifts, helping shape this role into a full-time position: Assist in planning and leading small groups, Bible studies, and adult discipleship opportunities Provide leadership and direction for the church's First Impressions ministry Oversee and support Teen and Young Adult ministries Manage and coordinate the church's IT systems and technology needs Lead and develop the church's community outreach initiatives Qualifications Required Personal, growing relationship with Jesus Christ and alignment with the church's statement of faith Demonstrated experience leading worship (church setting preferred) Proficiency in at least one instrument (guitar, piano/keys, etc.) and strong vocal leadership ability Strong interpersonal skills — comfortable in relational settings, not just on stage Ability to work collaboratively with pastoral staff and lay leaders Good organizational and communication skills Preferred Bible college, seminary training, or equivalent ministry experience Experience with sound/media systems (ProPresenter, basic audio mixing, etc.) Prior experience in a bi-vocational or multi-role ministry position, especially in a small-to-mid-size church Character & Spiritual Qualifications Meets the biblical qualifications for ministry leadership (e.g., 1 Timothy 3, Titus 1, as applicable to your denomination/tradition) Demonstrates humility, servant leadership, and teachability In good standing with, or willing to become a member of, the church Committed to the mission, vision, and values of the church Please provide resume and a video link of your musical ability.
