Student Ministry Director Full Time Position Direct Report:
Senior Pastor of Operations Functions :
RbC is a growing Christ-centered church committed to bringing life to the full to our community. To accomplish this we aspire to partner with people that are gifted with a high level of vision and relational ability. The Student Ministry Director is actively engaged in direct ministry, fostering deep relationships with middle school and high school students (grades 6-12). Through both direct ministry and leadership, the Student Ministry Director will foster a cohesive family ministry framework within RbC that provides lasting opportunities for students to see, hear, and respond to the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Required Values & Skills:
This leader should show evidence of an active and growing relationship with Jesus Christ, passion for students and families, genuine interest in responding to and investing in the hopes and concerns of youth and families in the community, prior effective ministry leadership, and basic understanding of child/human development. This person must listen well, communicate effectively with people of all ages, be skilled in planning and implementing ministry, be able to work well with others, delegate responsibility and follow up getting the job done.
Tasks / Requirements

Responsibilities:
Ensure that new students of RbC are followed up in a timely manner and made to feel welcome Intentionally get to know students and family members by name Participate in community/school events outside of RbC by engaging families and supporting students in their extracurricular pursuits and all areas of their lives - we call this "contact work" Strategically partner with area churches/community in planning of events to engage the Rockbridge County community Engage in regular communication with families and is available to parents for support and prayer Develop, train, and lead a dynamic volunteer leader team. Hold regular meetings with adult volunteers and student leadership for training, encouragement and prayer Regularly evaluate ministry plans, goals, budgets and progress towards RbC's mission and vision Coordinate student LIFEgroups by recruiting and training adult leaders Organize, plan, and help execute weekly youth group gatherings for middle and high school students Organize and implement local mission opportunities and one multi-day mission trip opportunity for RbC Students each year Support the kids ministry team (infants-5th grade) by overseeing kids ministry areas on Sunday morning when needed, completing big picture projects for RbC Kids, and recruiting kids volunteers (1st year only) Equip parents to point their children towards Jesus. Collaborate with the kids ministry team to develop a Sunday morning program for 4th-6th graders Build, shepherd, and deploy a high school leadership team to disciple middle school students Leadership /
Administration:
This position requires someone who can delegate responsibility, enjoys seeing others succeed and grow in their leadership abilities. The Student Ministry Director must first be an equipper, and secondly a doer. Build relationships Provide vision and direction to ministry leadership teams through regular planned meetings Provide leadership through development opportunities for team leaders and volunteers in the discipleship of students and families Demonstrate an ability to recruit, train, manage and encourage volunteers and provide resources to carry out programs and ministries Partner with RbC leadership to determine operational priorities and cultural alignment Oversee curriculum selection, book study and development for student ministries Participate in staff meetings, activities and other related duties as assigned by Senior Pastors to meet the ongoing needs of

Responsible to conduct oneself in a way that honors the Lord and faithfully represents RbC in and around the community Is responsible and mindful of the far reaching effect of social media and committed to conduct oneself with integrity on social media

$62,000.00 per year
