Job Description

Resident Assistant Casual, All Shifts available. 6am-2pm; 7am-3pm Job Summary Join our dedicated team as a Resident Assistant, where your compassion and proactive approach will create a warm, safe, and engaging environment for residents. In this vital role, you will support seniors and individuals with disabilities by providing personalized care, fostering independence, and enhancing their quality of life. Your energy and enthusiasm will help build a community rooted in respect, dignity, and vibrant social interaction. This paid position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference every day while developing valuable skills in caregiving and resident support. Duties Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment like Sara Stedy's when necessary Monitor residents' vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature to ensure health stability Administer medications accurately following prescribed schedules and protocols in accordance with healthcare regulations Provide companionship and social engagement to promote mental well-being and reduce feelings of isolation Assist with meal preparation, feeding, and ensuring nutritional needs are met in a safe environment Maintain cleanliness of resident areas, including personal spaces and common areas, adhering to infection control standards Document care activities using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems accurately and promptly Collaborate with nursing staff, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate comprehensive care plans Qualifications Demonstrated critical thinking and decision making, teamwork, and self-leadership skills. Demonstrated communication and customer service skills. Ability to clearly speak and proficiently read and write in English.
