The Community Living Advisor is responsible for providing supervision, guidance, and mentorship to students living in the residential program. This position helps create a safe, structured, and supportive living environment while promoting personal responsibility, positive behavior, and student success. Community Living Advisors serve as positive role models, ensuring students comply with Job Corps policies and develop the life skills needed to succeed both on center and in the workforce. Responsibilities Supervise and monitor students in assigned residential areas to ensure a safe, secure, and respectful living environment. Build positive relationships with students by providing mentorship, guidance, and encouragement. Enforce Job Corps policies, residential living standards, and student accountability procedures. Conduct room inspections, curfew checks, accountability counts, and safety inspections. Document student behavior, incidents, and observations accurately and in a timely manner. Respond appropriately to emergencies, conflicts, and student concerns while maintaining professionalism. Promote student participation in recreational, leadership, wellness, and life skills activities. Assist students in developing independent living, communication, conflict resolution, and interpersonal skills. Maintain effective communication with counselors, instructors, wellness staff, security, and other departments to support student success. Encourage respect, diversity, teamwork, and personal responsibility within the residential community. Monitor the cleanliness and condition of residential facilities and report maintenance or safety concerns. Maintain confidentiality and comply with all Job Corps policies, procedures, and federal regulations. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required Experience working with youth or young adults in education, residential living, behavioral health, social services, military, or related settings preferred. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills. Ability to build positive relationships while maintaining appropriate professional boundaries. Strong organizational and documentation skills with attention to detail. Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook). Ability to respond calmly and effectively in emergency or crisis situations. Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record preferred. Why Join Job Corps?
