Job Description
Summary We are seeking a full-time Life Enrichment Assistant (Activity Assistant) to join our team at Menorah Life. In this role, you will play a vital part in enhancing the quality of life for our residents by facilitating engaging activities and programs. Your contributions will help create a vibrant community atmosphere that supports the well-being of our seniors. Responsibilities Assist in planning and implementing recreational activities for residents. Encourage participation in activities that promote social interaction and physical well-being. Communicate effectively with residents to understand their interests and needs. Support residents with disabilities by adapting activities to ensure inclusivity. Maintain a safe and welcoming environment during all activities. Collaborate with nursing staff and other team members to coordinate care and support for residents. Requirements A successful candidate will possess two years experience with the elderly in a long-term care facility. Computer proficiency required, Microsoft Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint. Experience in activities and care planning preferred. Demonstration of an acceptable level of understanding of the following; the physiological, psychological, emotional and social development of aged adults. Must be able to organize and implement a variety of therapeutic activities. Must be able to communicate effectively. Must be able to work effectively with the aged and chronically ill. Must be able to follow directions, work effectively in a team setting, illustrate good judgment, tact and form positive relationships with staff, residents, volunteers and family members. Must be able to adapt to changing work conditions and available to work weekends.
