Under the general supervision of the Assistant Shelter Manager, the Case Aide provides compassionate, trauma-informed resident support and administrative assistance to help ensure the effective operation of Marian Hall Family Shelter. The Case Aide serves as an essential member of the shelter team by assisting residents with daily living needs, transportation, appointments, housing-related activities, and access to community resources while supporting the Assistant Shelter Manager with documentation, recordkeeping, inventory management, admissions and discharges, and other administrative and operational functions. The Case Aide helps maintain a safe, welcoming, organized, and resident-centered environment by coordinating resident support activities, maintaining program records, monitoring inventory and supplies, and assisting with routine shelter operations. This position serves as a professional, reliable, and compassionate point of contact for residents and contributes to the delivery of high-quality services that promote housing stability, independence, and family well-being. The position requires flexibility to meet the operational needs of the shelter, including occasional evenings, weekends, holidays, and additional hours as needed to support residents and program operations.
QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE POSITION
(Not the Individual Qualification) 1. High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's Degree in social services or related field preferred. 2. Previous experience working in a shelter, residential, or human services setting preferred. 3. Ability to relate to and work with ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset and at times hostile people. 4. Integrity, positive attitude, mission-driven, and self-directed with demonstrated passion for HONOR's mission. 5. Detail-oriented and have competent literacy and writing, documentation, communications and interpersonal abilities (friendly, courteous, helpful, ability to work as part of a team). 6. Ability to function independently and have flexibility, personal integrity and the ability to work with residents, staff and support agencies. 7. Bi-lingual preferred 8. Valid New York State driver's license 9. ServSafe Food Handler Certification is required within ninety (90) days of hire and must be maintained throughout employment.
Pay:
$19.00 per hour
