The Sanford-Springvale YMCA is seeking an energetic and experienced Director of Licensed Out-of-School Time & Summer Day Camp to lead programs that make a lasting difference in the lives of local children and families. This is an exciting opportunity to lead a Maine-licensed school-age child care program throughout the school year while overseeing our summer day camp experience. You will lead a team of caring youth professionals, build strong relationships with families, develop engaging programs, and ensure that every child has a safe and supportive place to learn, grow, and thrive. What We're Looking For Required:
Associate's or bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Education, Recreation, Youth Development, Social Services, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience. Experience working with school-age children in child care, education, recreation, camp, or youth development. Experience supervising or leading staff. Ability to meet applicable Maine DHHS licensing requirements. Ability to successfully complete required background checks. Current CPR/First Aid certification or ability to obtain. Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills. A genuine passion for working with children and families.
Preferred:
Previous experience managing a licensed school-age child care program. Summer camp leadership experience. Familiarity with Maine child-care licensing requirements. Experience with staff scheduling, enrollment management, budgeting, and program development.
