SafePlace is seeking compassionate, dependable applicants to provide advocacy and comprehensive services to survivors of domestic abuse and sexual assault throughout Woodbury, Plymouth, and Monona Counties in Iowa. You'll stand alongside survivors during some of life's most difficult moments—providing crisis support, advocacy, information, and connection to resources. You'll also collaborate with law enforcement, hospitals, courts, social service agencies, and other community partners to help create a coordinated, survivor-centered response. Experience in victim services or advocacy is wonderful, but it isn't the only experience we value. What You'll Do Provide crisis intervention, emotional support, safety planning, and ongoing advocacy to survivors. Respond to survivors by phone, in person, at hospitals, and throughout the community. Provide medical advocacy, including accompaniment for sexual assault medical/forensic exams. Advocate alongside survivors as they explore their options and navigate medical, legal, law enforcement, and other systems, honoring their choices and supporting their right to make their own decisions. Connect survivors with community resources and support services based on their individual needs and choices. Collaborate with law enforcement, medical providers, prosecutors, courts, social service agencies, and community partners. Participate in outreach, community education, awareness activities, and coordinated community response efforts. Maintain accurate documentation and participate in a rotating on-call schedule. What We're Looking For We're looking for someone who is compassionate, dependable, able to respond calmly during difficult situations, and comfortable working both independently and collaboratively. Strong communication, organization, and professional judgment are essential. Applicants must pass a background check and have a valid driver's license and the ability to travel throughout Woodbury, Plymouth, and Monona Counties as needed to provide advocacy and respond to survivors. Complete and maintain required victim advocate certification and training. SafePlace services are grounded in confidentiality, survivor self-determination, empowerment, safety, and informed choice.
