Job Summary We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Peer Support Specialist to join our team and make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals navigating behavioral health challenges. This position requires an individual who has lived experience of a mental health and/or substance use condition. Lived experience is defined as the personal knowledge, awareness, and understanding gained through direct involvement in life events particularly those related to mental health, substance use, and recovery. Additionally, provide support services to individuals experiencing similar challenges, perform a wide range of nonclinical community-based activities including advocacy, system navigation, and links to resources Duties Meet with mental health professionals to establish a wellness path plan and create activities that address their wheel dimensions. Provide camaraderie, encouragement and emotional support for clients, individually and during activities or group sessions. Connect clients with resources related to housing, employment and additional support/treatment. Help clients manage their calendar with mental health professionals. Report concerns about health and safety to other members of the care team. Keep accurate records of client encounters. Write reviews to keep up-to-date client files. Maintain client confidentiality. Skills and Qualifications Must have served in the US Armed Forces. Proficient in using digital communication tools and platforms. Familiar with electronic health record system(s). Must have a collaborative mindset, open to feedback and continuously seeking personal growth. Develop recovery plans tailored to the client's circumstances. Strong communications (oral and written) to produce clear, concise recovery reports and updates. Basic understanding of best practices for substance use and mental health counseling. Education and Experience Proficient in using digital communication tools and platforms. 40-60 hours of training in peer support. One years' experience working in the mental health field is preferred and preferably in a military environment. Need to have a successful record of recovery if applicable for at least the last two years. Ability to pass a background check; and if requested a drug test. Must have a valid driver's license at time the position is offered. Familiar with electronic health record system(s). Pay:

$20.00 - $25.00 per hour Expected hours: 20.0 per week
