Middle Way House Crisis Intervention Specialist Job Type:

PTO About Us Middle Way House is dedicated to providing immediate, trauma-informed support to survivors of domestic violence, sexual violence, and human trafficking. Our Crisis Intervention Program offers a range of services, including a 24/7 helpline, on-scene advocacy, and support groups, ensuring survivors receive the care and empowerment they deserve. We work collaboratively with the Indiana Coalition to End Sexual Assault and Human Trafficking (ICESAHT) and the Indiana Coalition to Against Domestic Violence (ICADV) to continually enhance and develop our programs. About the Role The Crisis Intervention Specialist supports the Crisis Intervention Services Program as part of Crisis Intervention Services at Middle Way House in enhancing the Middle Way House Services. Crisis Intervention assures the presence of face-to-face and crisis line services 24/7/365 for survivors of domestic violence, sexual violence, and human trafficking. Major Job Activities
Outreach and collaboration with underserved communities, including communities in rural areas within Middle Way House's services.
Increase of sexual-violence specific outreach to populations who experience sexual violence but do not have access to services.
Assessment and documentation of newly enhanced services.
Enhancement of community awareness of Middle Way House's long term support services for survivors of sexual violence, including support groups for sexual assault and incest survivors.
Participates in trainings of volunteers and outreach to the community. Role Requirements
Participate in rotation of 24/7/365 CI advocacy schedule, including on-call duties each week, and a regular monthly shift.
Provide advocacy for people who have experienced sexual violence, domestic violence, and human trafficking.
Recruiting, training, and supporting volunteer advocates.
Plan, organize and participate in awareness activities throughout the year, especially during Sexual Assault Awareness Month.
Must be highly reliable, professional, and able to work well with others.
Excellent communication skills.
Confident in conflict resolution and de-escalation skills.
Proactive and passionate work ethic.
Demonstrated ability to work independently.
Participate in planning and facilitation of advocate continuing education.
Maintained trainings of MWH CI volunteers and community trainings.
Assist with the day-to-day needs of the Crisis Intervention Program.
Attend weekly Crisis Intervention meetings.
Other duties as necessary to fulfill Middle Way's mission Preferred/Desired
Experience with survivors of various backgrounds and identities.
Understanding of intersectional issues and program development.
Fluency in languages such as ASL, Chinese, or Spanish.
College Degree in Social Work, or related field.
