  • Saturday or Sunday
  • Thursday Brantwood Family Services operates a comprehensive, long-term residential program for pregnant and parenting women that emphasizes a family-centered, relational approach to recovery.
Brantwood Family Services is accredited by CARF International and licensed by the Maryland Behavioral Health Administration.
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED; Certified Peer Recovery Specialist (CPRS) certification in Maryland; Minimum one year providing peer support services preferred Core Competencies Ability to learn, retain, and follow policies & procedures; Ability to respond appropriately to emergency/crisis situations; Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing; Ability to utilize laptop & desktop computers, send emails, and document in electronic health records; Ability to maintain professionalism when responding to residents & difficult situations; Ability to perform job duties in an ethical and professional manner, to include protecting resident confidentiality and maintaining appropriate boundaries; Ability to lift & carry up to 30 lbs, push & pull carts, crouch & kneel, frequent walking, standing and climbing stairs; Ability to contribute to a positive work environment; Ability to receive feedback to support professional growth/development; Ability to prioritize and carry out duties independently.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Ensure a safe and supportive therapeutic environment in which residents are treated with respect and dignity in line with principles trauma informed care; Assist residents in enhanced motivation for recovery and the development of recovery supports; Offer coaching, assistance, and modeling of life skills to residents; Provide active listening and understanding to residents, helping to facilitate conflict resolution and healthy problem-solving; Facilitate peer-based recovery groups; Support residents in the development of a safe and recovery-oriented transition plan. Brantwood Family Services operates a 24/7 residential healthcare facility. Peer Support Specialists are Essential Staff and will be required to work holidays and report to work even in the event of inclement weather.
