Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Peer Support Specialist to join our behavioral health team. In this vital role, you will serve as a compassionate peer advocate for individuals navigating mental health challenges. Your lived experience and insights will empower clients on their recovery journeys, foster hope, and promote resilience. This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of diverse communities while working within a supportive, team-oriented environment. Community based or Senior Living facility based positions are available. Duties Provide peer support to individuals experiencing mental health conditions sharing personal recovery experiences to inspire hope. Engage clients through active listening and strategies to promote positive behavioral change. Assist clients by connecting them with appropriate community resources and services. Maintain strict confidentiality of client information in accordance with privacy laws and organizational policies. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support client goals. Document peer interactions accurately to track progress toward recovery. milestones. Requirements Must be able to attest to having a mental health diagnosis and have reached a point in their recovery pathway where they can positively support others in similar situations. Eighteen (18) years of age and older. Within the last three (3) years, have maintained at least 12 months of successful full or part-time paid or volunteer work experience. Must be able to participate in a two-week course to receive state-issued certification or possess a PCB state-issued CPS certification. Ability to use iPad for documentation. Must have a driver's license and reliable transportation.

Pay:
From $18.00 per hour Expected hours: 15.0 - 30.0 per week
