Out of the Cold Shelter Coordinator This position is focused on shelter coordination and volunteer coordination tasks. Part-time; $15.00/hour. This position will contain 4 hours shifts during the afternoon.

4 hour shifts Position Purpose/Summary Out of the Cold is a community-supported organization that answers the call to serve those experiencing homelessness in our community by providing shelter, food, and support services during the transition to permanent housing.

Requirements:

Maintain professional standards of performance, demeanor and appearance at all times. Perform tasks and responsibilities in a complete and timely manner, complying with agency policies and standards Attend weekly staff meetings Maintain knowledge of community groups, individuals and agencies that provide resources for homeless clients. Including, but not limited to, participating in training exercises and reading assigned materials.

Examples of Duties and Responsibilities:

General upkeep of the facility Procuring and managing supplies for the facility Procuring and managing supplies for guests Laundry and shower coordination Guest Services Guest registration and identification of basic needs Answering the guest registration and on-call phone Assist with getting the evening host site ready for guests Facilitate guest registration and sign-in procedures Volunteer Coordination Orient volunteers to site and responsibilities Training volunteers and providing opportunities for volunteers Communicating with volunteers Out of the Cold is based in State College, PA .
