INTAKE WORKER EMERGENCY SERVICES DEPARTMENT

Full-time (40 hours per week) 11

Emanuel St North Providence General Job Responsibility :

Direct contact with Rhode Islanders in need of emergency services, with discussion, needs assessments, review and research to coordinate services and referrals appropriately for each individual household.

Specific Job Responsibilities :

Assisting of applicants by active listening and addressing to resolve any inquires. Implementation of programs (LiHEAP, Food, Housing, Weatherization etc) by taking/completing/filing applications while utilizing basic office equipment and multiple computer programs. Attending Outreach event activities as scheduled. Conversing with vendors, contractors and/or program grantors while completing mailings to such. Maintaining necessary detailed case notes and relevant spreadsheets. Any other duties as assigned by Program Director, Chief Operating Officer or President/CEO.

Qualifications :

High School Diploma or Equivalency.

Special Qualifications :

Able to operate basic office equipment and possess the basic knowledge of computer programs. Effective speaking capability with pleasant/friendly approach to clients, community and coworkers while being flexible to change, having strong organizational skills and good attention to detail. Demonstrate an understanding of everyone's experiences ensuring the delivery of services that recognizes and respects that every moment matters.
