Lead and grow a volunteer program aligned with Phoenix Centers mission; establish systems for recruitment, onboarding, training, scheduling, tracking and coordination
Partner with internal teams to determine volunteer needs and communicate volunteer availability.
Develop outreach strategies to attract diverse, mission-aligned volunteers; serve as the primary welcoming point of contact; match volunteers to appropriate roles and foster belonging and engagement.
Facilitate volunteer onboarding processes, including application review, background checks, required documentation, and video trainings; provide training and orientation on agency policies, procedures, safety practices, and working with children and families; maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with organizational policies and confidentiality standards.
Coordinate volunteer support across administrative, clinical/programmatic, fundraising, facilities, and equine program areas to ensure consistent coverage and impact.
Serve as a primary point of contact for volunteers, providing guidance, support, scheduling, and clear communication; monitor engagement, offer feedback, and address concerns while supporting accountability as needed; ensure volunteers feel prepared, confident, and valued.
Build a culture of appreciation through recognition and communication; strengthen volunteer relationships as ambassadors and supporters; support engagement through events and touchpoints; uphold professional boundaries, confidentiality, and the mission and values of the organization in all interactions.
Manage regular cadence of thank you notes to show appreciation to volunteers.
Track volunteer hours and engagement; collaborate with staff to identify volunteer needs and ensure appropriate coverage; collect feedback to improve programming; identify opportunities for expansion and increased impact; perform other duties as assigned.
Track HIPAA renewal each year and ensure compliance.
