Resource Specialist

Job Description

Metro Area Agency on Aging, Aging and Disability Center (ADRC) is seeking a qualified candidate for the position of ADRC Resource Specialist. This position is responsible for conducting individual person-centered counseling sessions, conducting telephone assessments for in-home services, offering options counseling to individuals and/or their families, providing advocacy assistance, benefits counseling related to public and private social service programs, and for identifying the needs of individuals while coordinating appropriate services and resources with partner agencies. This position requires talented and dedicated individuals who can engage collaboratively in a professional, resourceful, trustworthy, accountable, efficient, and innovative manner. The ideal candidate will be a team-oriented individual who can engage effectively with coworkers and community members in the process of providing quality customer service as well as exhibiting compassion, patience, and have excellent problem-solving skills. Qualified applicants should have a bachelor's degree in a human service-related field or two years of human service-related experience. Applicants must have the ability to effectively coordinate and communicate with people with disabilities, home and community-based service providers, the public, local government, state government, and the Aging Network.
Additional skill sets required include:
knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite local community resources Medicare and Medicaid long-term care Medicaid Waiver programs.
