Job Description

Company Overview Newtown Youth and Family Services (NYFS) is a licensed non-profit mental health clinic and youth service bureau dedicated to providing high-quality human health services that promote the well-being of the community. With over 30 years of experience, NYFS offers specialized programs including outpatient counseling, substance abuse treatment, prevention initiatives, and support groups designed to foster individual and community wellness. NYFS seeks a Part-time Student Assistant Counselor to provide informal, confidential drop-in based therapeutic support to students at Newtown Middle School and Newtown High school by referral. Services will focus on substance use and abuse as well as the student overall wellbeing.
Requirements:
Must have a master's degree in substance abuse prevention and intervention field or related field. Exp. in a school setting and substance abuse. Prefer Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC) or
LCSW/LPC
Must have experience in counseling/educating children & adolescents actively using substances or affected by substance abuse. 27.50 hours a week, following the school calendar, Part-time status. Pay $38-$40/hour. Paid agency holidays and 5 personal paid days per school calendar year to be used. Summers off.

$38.00 - $40.00 per hour
