Full Job Description Job Description:

We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Primary Therapist to join our team in the field of substance abuse and mental health. As a Primary Therapist, you will be responsible for providing individual and group therapy to individuals struggling with substance abuse and co-occurring mental health disorders.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients' mental health and substance abuse issues
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
• Provide individual therapy sessions to address clients' specific needs and goals
• Family sessions and working with family to help support client with through sobriety
• Facilitate and lead group therapy sessions on various topics related to substance abuse and mental health
• Collaborate with other members of the treatment team to ensure comprehensive and integrated care for clients
• Participate in multidisciplinary treatment meetings and case conferences
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all client interactions and treatment progress
• Stay up-to-date on current research and best practices in the field of substance abuse and mental health

Qualifications:

• Preferred but not required Bachelor's degree in counseling, psychology, social work, or a related field
• 2-5 years experience working in a substance abuse treatment setting
• Knowledge of evidence-based therapeutic approaches for substance abuse and mental health disorders
• Familiarity with diagnostic criteria for substance use disorders and mental health disorders
• Strong understanding of the impact of trauma and co-occurring disorders
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage clients
• Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail for accurate documentation and record keeping
• Empathy, compassion, and the ability to establish a therapeutic rapport with clients
• Flexibility and adaptability to meet the changing needs of clients and the treatment program
• Ability to maintain professional and ethical boundaries

Preferred:

• Experience working with diverse populations, including LGBTQ+ individuals, veterans, and culturally diverse communities
• Experience with trauma-informed care and trauma-focused therapy
• Additional certifications or specialized training in substance abuse counseling or specific therapeutic modalities
• Bilingual or multilingual skills
