Be Discussed Job Description:
We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Part-Time Substance Abuse Counselor to join our team working for The Public Defender's 19th Circuit Journey Forward Program . This position provides the opportunity to work with both male and female inmate populations, delivering essential substance use treatment services in a structured setting. The ideal candidate will be comfortable facilitating groups, conducting individual counseling sessions, completing timely and accurate clinical documentation
Responsibilities:
  • Facilitate substance abuse group sessions
  • Provide individual counseling to clients
  • Complete screenings and assessments
  • Complete clinical documentation in a timely and accurate manner
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team
  • Support clients in developing coping skills, relapse prevention strategies, and recovery goals
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a related field (Human Services, Psychology, Social Work, or similar) CAC preferred Experience in substance abuse treatment preferred Prior knowledge and experience with an electronic medical record (EMR) system Strong communication and organizational skills Ability to work effectively with a diverse inmate population
Preferred:
Knowledge of substance use disorders and recovery principles
Work Environment:
This position may include work within a correctional facility as well as in an outpatient setting and requires adherence to all applicable facility policies and procedures. The position may also require travel to and work at multiple locations based on program needs.
Schedule Note:
This is a part-time position. Specific days and hours will be discussed based on program needs and candidate availability.

$20.00 - $25.00 per hour
