Duties Conduct comprehensive client assessments using diagnostic tools aligned with DSM-5 standards to determine treatment needs and develop personalized care plans. Deliver individual and group therapy sessions utilizing evidence-based practices such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), behavioral therapy, and motivational interviewing to foster positive behavioral change. Facilitate crisis intervention and crisis management strategies to ensure client safety during acute episodes or mental health emergencies. Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams for case management, treatment planning, and progress monitoring, ensuring adherence to clinical documentation standards and medical records protocols. Engage in intake procedures, patient care activities, and ongoing client communication to build trust and promote engagement in recovery programs. Maintain strict compliance with HIPAA regulations by safeguarding patient confidentiality and managing electronic health records (EHR) accurately within EMR/EHR systems. Collaborate with families and community resources for child & family counseling, home & community care, and support services that enhance recovery outcomes. Skills Proficiency in psychotherapy techniques including motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and behavioral management strategies. Strong experience working with individuals with substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions such as PTSD or other trauma-related disorders. Knowledge of medical terminology, clinical documentation standards, ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), CPT coding, and diagnostic evaluation processes. Skilled in crisis intervention, crisis management, and providing mental health counseling within diverse cultural contexts. Ability to perform client assessments in therapy settings, conduct group therapy sessions, and utilize evidence-based practices for addiction medicine. Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) management systems, medical records maintenance, and compliance with HIPAA regulations. Excellent communication skills for client engagement, case management coordination, and interdisciplinary collaboration. Experience working in hospital environments or community-based settings with a focus on mental health and behavioral health services.
