Description Position Overview Vera's Family and Children Wellness Center is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our outpatient team in New Rochelle, New York. Work Environment This role is primarily remote, allowing for flexibility while still providing outpatient care. Our outpatient office in New Rochelle serves as the hub for patient consultations and therapy sessions. Practitioners can expect a structured work schedule, typically Monday to Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with occasional evening shifts required to meet the needs of our clients. Key Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments that evaluate the emotional and psychological needs of children and adolescents. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that incorporate each patient's developmental stage and family dynamics. Utilize evidence-based therapeutic interventions tailored to diverse mental health issues, ensuring effective treatment. Facilitate family therapy sessions to empower parents and caregivers in fostering a supportive home environment. Work collaboratively with child psychiatrists and other multidisciplinary professionals to guarantee coordinated and comprehensive care. Provide crisis intervention and support during mental health emergencies, ensuring timely and effective assistance. Educate families about mental health conditions, available treatment options, and community resources that can support their journey. Maintain precise and confidential documentation in alignment with legal and ethical standards, ensuring compliance with all regulations. Participate actively in team meetings and case consultations to foster a culture of continuous learning and professional development. Stay abreast of current research and advancements in child and adolescent psychiatry to provide informed care. Patient Population / Client Focus In this role, you will have the extraordinary opportunity to impact the lives of children and adolescents facing a variety of mental health challenges. Our clientele ranges from young individuals experiencing anxiety and depression to those dealing with ADHD and other behavioral issues. You will be integral in developing tailored strategies that not only enhance individual well-being but also support the entire family unit in navigating these complex issues. Qualifications A Master's degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution. Current and valid licensure as an LCSW, LCSW-R, LMHC, or LMFT in New York State. A minimum of two years of post-licensure experience in a similar role is preferred. In-depth knowledge of child and adolescent mental health disorders, evidence-based treatment approaches, and therapeutic modalities. Demonstrated experience in providing individual and family therapy tailored to the needs of young clients. Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, capable of fostering a trusting and empathetic relationship with children, adolescents, and their families. Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems and familiarity with various computer applications for documentation and treatment planning. Commitment to working collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team. Preferred Experience While the position requires a minimum of two years of experience, candidates with additional experience in child and adolescent therapy, as well as those who have engaged in crisis intervention or family therapy, will be given priority. Familiarity with evidence-based practices and community resources available for young clients will enhance the candidate's ability to effectively contribute to our team. Compensation and Benefits Vera's Family and Children Wellness Center offers a competitive salary range of
USD 115,000
to 130,000 per year, complemented by a comprehensive benefits package.
