The Primary Responsibilities of the Actuarial Consultant will be as follows: Manage and grow client relationships with small and medium sized clients Partner with senior consultants to manage and grow client relationships with large clients Manage client projects and engagements, including preparing and monitoring project plans, preparing client billings, directing the work of actuarial analysts, and preparing reports and presenting the results to clients Provide the highest quality services to our clients; comply with GRS peer review guidelines for all work products Participate in marketing and business development activities and secure new business from both existing and new clients Actively participate in firm and employee improvement efforts We ask that candidates possess the following designation, knowledge, skills and abilities: At least 8 years of actuarial valuation and consulting experience with pension plans; public sector experience preferred and experience with OPEB plans will be valued. Enrolled Actuary (EA) or Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA) required; Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA) designation preferred Strong actuarial consulting skills Exceptional communication skills; ability to effectively present in front of clients and diverse audiences Technologically proficient; willingness and ability to learn and become knowledgeable in our proprietary actuarial valuation system; already very productive with Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Access Strong project management skills; hands-on management of multiple projects, mentoring/coaching, ability to pay attention to details and be well organized A doer; a person who is willing to roll up his or her sleeves, and get the job done A "team player"; ability to effectively work as part of a project or client team Effective interpersonal skills Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
