Full Job Description Position Summary :
The Director of Advancement Services is a strategic and operational leader within Tabor Academy's Advancement Office, providing the systems, data, and operational expertise needed to advance the school's philanthropic and engagement goals. Reporting to the Director of Advancement, the Director of Advancement Services oversees advancement operations, database administration, data governance, prospect research, fundraising analytics, gift administration, financial reconciliation, reporting, and the management and development of Advancement Services staff. The Director serves as Tabor's senior advancement database administrator and subject-matter expert for Blackbaud Raiser's Edge/NXT and related systems, ensuring that technology and information are effectively integrated into the division's daily work and long-term planning. The successful candidate will combine strategic thinking, analytical expertise, strong management skills, technical proficiency, and exceptional attention to detail with a commitment to confidentiality, collaboration, service, and Tabor Academy's mission. This is a year-round staff position and does not include campus housing.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership and Operations Lead Advancement Services strategy, priorities, processes, and internal controls. Partner with the Director of Advancement on fundraising goals, campaigns, performance, and operational improvements. Supervise and develop the Advancement Database Manager. Establish efficient, consistent workflows and ensure continuity and cross-training. Anticipate operational and analytical needs across fundraising, alumni, donor relations, events, and engagement. Participate in Advancement initiatives and work occasional evenings and weekends. Database Administration Serve as the senior administrator and expert for Raiser's Edge/NXT, iWave, and related systems. Oversee database configuration, maintenance, data integrity, reporting, security, access, and documentation. Establish data standards and quality-control practices. Partner with IT and other departments on integrations, technology improvements, and system needs. Train Advancement staff on database and reporting tools. Prospect Research and Fundraising Analytics Lead data and analytics strategies supporting fundraising priorities and decision-making. Oversee prospect research, identification, qualification, segmentation, and portfolio management. Develop dashboards, reports, projections, and analyses covering fundraising performance, pipelines, portfolios, retention, participation, and revenue. Provide fundraisers with actionable prospect and portfolio information. Conduct benchmarking and other analyses to inform planning. Gift Administration Oversee accurate processing, recording, acknowledgment, and reconciliation of gifts and pledges. Maintain procedures for gift acceptance, documentation, designation, recognition, and pledge management. Partner with the Business Office on reconciliations, financial reporting, fund codes, and audits. Oversee securities and other non-cash gifts and resolve discrepancies. Maintain appropriate financial controls and compliance practices. Reporting and Analysis Develop and maintain reports, dashboards, queries, and analytical tools for Advancement and school leadership. Produce regular and ad hoc analyses supporting fundraising, campaigns, alumni relations, events, and engagement. Lead Advancement data for the school's annual report and industry benchmarking. Ensure reporting is accurate, consistent, documented, and actionable.
Required Skills and Abilities:
Bachelor's Degree and five or more years of experience in advancement services, development operations, fundraising analytics, or nonprofit data management. Strong proficiency in Blackbaud Raiser's Edge/NXT, including database administration, reporting, queries, gift processing, and data integrity. Knowledge of advancement operations, gift administration, prospect management, stewardship, and fundraising reporting. Demonstrated management experience. Commitment to Tabor Academy's mission and the role of philanthropy in supporting an independent school. Excellent interpersonal, customer service, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Commitment to managing highly sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
Salary:
$90,000 to $120,000 annually, based on qualifications and experience
