Jobs › Rockland, MA › Director, AI & Emerging Tech Rockland Trust Company Director, AI & Emerging Tech Rockland, MA Apply Director of AI and Emerging Technology, Rockland Trust Company (Rockland, MA): Execute, deploy, and govern the operation of enterprise AI solutions. Will be a senior technology leader responsible for driving the design, development, deployment, and lifecycle management of artificial intelligence solutions across the Bank. Will lead a team of AI engineers, MLOps specialists, and software developers to build secure, scalable, and governed AI capabilities that enhance operational efficiency, customer experience, risk management, and decisionmaking. Will ensure that all AI solutions are developed in alignment with regulatory expectations, enterprise architecture standards, model risk management frameworks, and the Banks AI operating model. Will lead the Banks AI engineering function, setting technical direction, engineering standards, and development priorities. Will partner across the various areas of the business including all 3 lines of defense to accelerate safe, responsible AI adoption. Will serve as a key contributor to the Banks AI Operating Model, governance program, and enterprise AI architecture. Will oversee the design and development of AI and machine learning platforms, including model training pipelines, vector databases, model registries, prompt engineering, and GenAI orchestration frameworks. Will ensure AI solutions are scalable, secure, well-documented, and built using industry best practices. Will lead the evaluation and integration of AI capabilities within the Banks core application technologies. Will establish and manage MLOps practices for model deployment, monitoring, retraining, access control, and versioning. Will develop and manage GenAI operations pipelines, including retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) systems, LLM orchestration, prompt libraries, and evaluation frameworks. Will implement observability capabilities to detect model drift, data quality issues, or anomalous AI behavior. Will develop processes for documenting model lineage, input/output controls, and technical risk assessments. Will ensure all AI engineering practices align to regulatory expectations, and internal controls. Will collaborate with Dat Governance and Model Risk to maintain documentation, validation requirements, change management procedures, and audit readiness. Will implement technical guardrails for safe and responsible AI usage, including access management and data privacy controls. Will support inventory management and classification of all AI systems across the enterprise. Will build, mentor, and lead a high-performing team of AI/ML engineers and developers. Telecommuting from within the U.S. allowed. The basic annual pay ranges from \$254,155 to \$259,155.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor\'s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a closely related field and 5 years of experience in an occupation in data engineering with a focus on banking systems.
Special Requirements:
Must have any level of demonstrated knowledge of: 1) data warehouse and lake architecture design and implementation; 2) architecting physical and logical data models; and 3) data analysis, machine learning, and Gen-AI and reporting tools.
