Laser Programmer /
CAD CAM Operator Job Type:
Full-time Work Location:
On-site / Gastonia, North Carolina About the Role We are looking for a skilled Laser Programmer to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will program, set up, and operate CNC/laser cutting equipment to process high-precision parts. If you have a strong background in CAD/CAM software, material processing, and quality control, we want to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities Programming:
Create and optimize G-code/laser programs from 2D/3D engineering drawings and CAD files.
Setup & Parameter Tuning:
Calibrate laser machines and set parameters (power, speed, gas pressure, focal length) according to material type and thickness.
Operation & Quality Control:
Run production batches, inspect first-article parts, and perform precision measurements to meet quality standards.
Process Optimization:
Partner with engineering and production teams to reduce scrap, optimize nesting, and improve cycle times.
Troubleshooting & Maintenance:
Diagnose program errors, resolve machine feed issues, and perform routine preventative maintenance.
Safety & Workplace:
Maintain a clean work area and strictly follow workplace safety protocols. Qualifications & Requirements High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or technical certifications preferred. 2+ years of experience as a Laser Programmer or CNC Operator in a manufacturing environment. Hands-on proficiency with CAD/CAM software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Trumpf TruTops, Bystronic, Sigmanest, or similar). Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, and technical schematics. Solid math skills and experience using precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers). Proven understanding of material properties (steel, aluminum, stainless steel, etc.). Benefits Competitive pay with overtime opportunities.
