This is a hands-on technical role. The successful candidate must be able to understand what the customer is trying to produce, identify the likely cause of a printing or material-related problem, and provide practical troubleshooting guidance. Position Summary The 3D Dental Technical Support Specialist will serve as a primary technical resource for customers using Pac-Dent's 3D printing resins. You will respond to technical questions involving resin selection, printer settings, printing failures, post-processing, curing, material handling, and final-part performance. The ideal candidate understands that successful 3D printing is not simply about the resin.
It involves the interaction between:
Resin + printer + software + print parameters + post-processing + application/workflow. You should be comfortable communicating with both experienced dental technicians and dentists who may have very different levels of digital dentistry experience. Key Responsibilities Customer Technical Support Respond to technical questions from dentists, dental technicians, dental laboratories, distributors, and customers. Troubleshoot 3D printing problems by gathering the right information and identifying potential root causes. Provide clear, practical, step-by-step troubleshooting instructions. Assist customers with resin selection based on their intended dental application. Help customers understand recommended printing, washing, drying, and post-curing procedures. Support customers with questions regarding material handling, storage, shelf life, and proper use. Document customer technical inquiries, troubleshooting activities, and resolutions. Escalate complex technical or product-quality issues to
QA/RA, R
D, or management when appropriate. 3D Printing Technical Support Troubleshoot common problems such as: Failed prints Poor adhesion Warping or deformation Layer separation Incomplete curing Surface defects Dimensional inaccuracies Support failures Brittleness or insufficient strength Residual resin Inconsistent post-curing Evaluate the interaction between resin, printer, build platform, software, print orientation, support structures, exposure parameters, washing, and post-curing. Help customers optimize printing parameters for Pac-Dent materials. Work with different dental 3D printers and post-processing equipment. Perform hands-on printing and troubleshooting when necessary to reproduce customer problems. Technical Documentation & Training Develop and maintain technical support materials, troubleshooting guides, FAQs, and application instructions. Assist in preparing training materials for customers, distributors, and sales personnel. Conduct product demonstrations and technical training when needed. Provide feedback to R D and Product Development regarding recurring customer issues and potential product improvements. Cross-Functional Support Work closely with Sales, Marketing, QA/RA, R D, and Product Management. Distinguish between a normal technical-support issue and a potential product-quality complaint. Properly document and escalate complaints and potential adverse product-performance issues according to company procedures. Support product evaluations and new-product launches. Maintain current knowledge of Pac-Dent's 3D resin portfolio and intended applications. Qualifications Required Hands-on experience with dental laboratory, dental CAD/CAM, or 3D printing applications. Strong practical knowledge of dental 3D printing workflows. Experience troubleshooting resin-based 3D printing. Ability to understand and interpret printer settings and printing parameters. Strong understanding of dental laboratory workflows and terminology. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to communicate technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical customers. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Customer-service mindset with the ability to remain patient and professional when troubleshooting difficult problems. Willingness to perform hands-on testing and reproduce customer issues. Preferred CDT certification or dental laboratory experience. Experience with
LCD/DLP/MSLA 3D
printers. Experience with dental CAD software such as exocad, 3Shape, or equivalent. Experience with dental 3D printing resins. Experience with post-processing and UV curing equipment. Experience working with dental models, surgical guides, splints, denture applications, or restorative materials. Experience providing technical support to dental laboratories or dental professionals. Familiarity with dental materials and their mechanical/physical properties. Experience creating technical training materials or conducting product demonstrations.
Pay:
$70,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
