POSITION OVERVIEW
The Field Service Technician I is responsible for providing exceptional customer service and technical support to Xobee's clients and vendors, both remotely and onsite at client locations. The Field Service Technician I has proven experience troubleshooting problems ranging from server, network, PC, and peripheral issues and serves as a primary onsite technical resource for assigned service requests. This position regularly travels to client locations to troubleshoot technical issues, install and configure equipment, perform maintenance, assist with projects, and provide other onsite technical services. The Field Technician I is expected to represent Xobee professionally while working at client locations and must be comfortable working independently in a variety of client environments. The Field Technician I is highly motivated with the desire and drive to learn quickly. Candidates enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and have the ability to work independently or collaboratively with other members of the technical team. This position generally works during normal business hours, Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm; however, operational needs may require overtime or work outside of normal business hours. This position is classified as hourly/non-exempt, and the employee is required to accurately record all hours worked. Meal periods, rest periods, and overtime compensation will be provided in accordance with applicable laws and Company policy.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The following is a list of essential job functions and responsibilities. Other duties and responsibilities may be added as needed, or modified from time to time. Travel regularly to client locations to provide onsite technical support and services. Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, network, workstation, printer, peripheral, and connectivity issues while onsite at client locations. Install, configure, replace, and troubleshoot computers, networking equipment, peripherals, and other technology equipment. Perform equipment deployments, workstation setups, moves, additions, and changes at client locations. Assist with onsite implementation of technical projects and upgrades under the direction of senior technical staff. Perform basic network and infrastructure troubleshooting, including physical connectivity and equipment issues. Coordinate with Help Desk, Dispatch, Tier II technicians, engineers, and other internal team members when onsite issues require escalation or additional support. Accurately document onsite work performed, troubleshooting steps, equipment changes, and resolutions within the Company's ticketing and documentation systems. Maintain assigned company tools, equipment, and inventory in an organized and secure manner. Communicate professionally with clients regarding the status of onsite service requests and explain technical issues and resolutions in an understandable manner. Follow client-site security, safety, access, and confidentiality requirements. Represent Xobee professionally while working at client locations. Escalate issues to Tier II when necessary.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Minimum of 12 months experience administering/supporting the following: Small business LAN troubleshooting Microsoft365/Azure Active Directory Microsoft Windows Server 2012 and above Help desk or relevant customer service skills Experience with PSA and RMM tools Fundamental understanding of DNS, DHCP, and TCP/IP Knowledge of backup technologies Knowledge of security practices and policies
Preferred Skills and Experience:
Strong MSP or similar work experience Associate or Bachelor's degree in a computer related field required. Relevant and significant industry experience may provide as a substitute for education Any Microsoft, Cisco, Security+ or other certifications is a plus Sophos software and hardware ITGlue Experience with ConnectWise Automate/Control is a plus Veeam Backup and Replication VMware RDS environments Cisco/DUO
ADDITIONAL POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Because regular travel to client locations is an essential function of this position: Possession and maintenance of a valid driver's license is required. Ability and willingness to regularly travel to client and company locations during the workday is required. Ability to safely transport tools, equipment, computers, and other technology-related materials as necessary to perform assigned duties. Ability to independently manage an assigned field schedule and travel between multiple client locations. Ability to work effectively in different client environments and adapt to varying onsite working conditions.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS

Ability to sit, stand, walk, reach, bend, kneel, crouch, or squat while installing, troubleshooting, or servicing technology equipment. Ability to use standard hand tools and technology-related equipment necessary to install, remove, configure, or troubleshoot computer and networking equipment. Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 25 pounds as needed. Ability to safely transport computers, monitors, networking equipment, tools, and other equipment between company and client locations. Ability to operate a motor vehicle and regularly travel between client and company locations. Ability to communicate effectively with clients and employees in person, by phone, and through electronic communication. Ability to manage multiple priorities, maintain attention to detail, and perform work accurately while working independently at client locations.
COMPENSATION
This is a non-exempt positon. Actual compensation will be based on factors such as experience, skills, knowledge, and other position related factors.
