Position Summary:
The IT Support Technician provides essential technical assistance to students, faculty, and administration. This role is responsible for the deployment, maintenance, and troubleshooting of a wide range of hardware and software within a dynamic high school environment.
Key Responsibilities Technical Support:
Serve as the primary "Help Desk" contact for staff and students; diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and peripheral issues.
Device Management:
Install, configure, and upgrade software across macOS, ChromeOS, and iPadOS platforms using MDM (Mobile Device Management) tools.
Hardware Maintenance:
Unbox, deploy, and repair computers, Chromebooks, interactive displays, projectors, school TV monitors, telephone system, and printers.
Specialized Lab Support:
Provide technical oversight for departmental equipment, including 3D printers, CNC machinery, laser cutters, and flight simulators.
Inventory & Documentation:
Maintain accurate hardware inventories and document technical procedures, support tickets, and system configurations. Assist with website updates, Swipe, Swank, and et al. Auditorium liaison- provide oversight and technology aid for special events.
Procurement Assistance:
Research hardware/software compatibility and provide data-driven recommendations for future upgrades.
Vendor Liaison:
Act as the point of contact for external vendors regarding technical support and hardware repairs.
Qualifications Education:
High School Diploma required. Progress toward a Bachelor's degree or Computer Science certifications is highly preferred.
Technical Literacy:
High proficiency with G Suite (Google Workspace), Chromebooks, and Chrome extensions.
Communication:
Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with students and school leadership.
Logistics:
Must have reliable transportation and a commitment to ongoing professional development. Physical Requirements Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Capacity to stand or walk for extended periods. Ability to perform physical tasks such as climbing ladders and maneuvering underneath desks to manage cabling and hardware.
