IT Systems Technician

Job Description

The IT Systems Technician is responsible for providing advanced technical support to end users, troubleshooting hardware/software issues, performing basic system and network tasks, and ensuring timely resolution or escalation of problems. This role supports the day-to-day operation of computers, endpoints, servers, printers, phones, and basic applications in a multi-site Windows environment. The position requires a passion for technology and the ability to best meet end-user and business needs. Serves as the primary point of contact for staff technology support and escalates complex issues to senior IT staff as needed. Setup and moving endpoint hardware, upgrade existing hardware and software Correct reported hardware and/or software problems with Endpoints and mobile devices Support organization staff with computer issues, primarily relying on phone calls and ticketing system Support operational servers locally under direction of senior staff, restarts, software installs, and occasional application support Assist with implementation and setup of approved tools on operational servers. User and endpoint management using Windows Active Directory, resetting passwords and moving or assigning objects Monitor security and backup solutions and provide basic file restoration from backup Basic network support involving endpoint connectivity troubleshooting, occasional network configuration, and reporting to senior staff for more complex networking issues Support printers including config settings in print devices and helping with supply replacement like toners and drums. Help resolve endpoint printing issues Support premise phone system by helping with desk phone setup and settings, adding users and extensions. Be able to provide initial support of numerous healthcare specific software applications and devices, including endpoint installs, configuring basic settings, and reporting complex issues to senior IT staff Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations such as HIPAA in all support activities Be part of the on-call rotation to provide 24/7 support for departments operating after regular hours Be able to work overtime or adjust schedule occasionally based on specific needs for IT projects if needed Be considerate of the sensitive emotional nature of healthcare and always communicate as positively as possible, while being professional to all staff in the organization Physically able to lift to 25 lbs. individually Other IT related duties as they arise within our realm of expertise and the needs of the organization

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION
Minimum:

High School diploma

Preferred:

Associate or bachelor's degree in a computer-related field.

LICENSE/CERTIFICATION
Preferred:

Microsoft, Networking, Firewall or similar industry certifications.

EXPERIENCE
Minimum:

1+ years working experience in information technology or related field.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

3+ years' working experience in information technology or related field. Prior experience providing help desk support for an IT environment. Healthcare experience.
