Senior Cisco Network Engineer (Healthcare IT Required)

Healthcare IT / Network Infrastructure We are seeking an experienced Senior Cisco Network Engineer to support a major network modernization initiative. This role focuses on transitioning from legacy, undocumented configurations to a modern, scalable architecture, including VXLAN‑based solutions. Candidates must have strong Cisco engineering experience and ideally healthcare IT exposure. If you do not have Cisco network engineering experience, please do not apply . Position Overview The engineer will lead modernization efforts, troubleshoot complex issues, document existing environments, and collaborate closely with the Network Manager and IT leadership. This is a hands‑on role requiring deep technical expertise and the ability to stabilize and improve a brittle legacy environment. Key Responsibilities Modernize legacy network configurations into a stable, scalable VXLAN‑based architecture Troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues with minimal operational disruption Configure and manage Cisco switches, routers, firewalls, ATAs, and related devices Work closely with the Network Manager and IT team to plan and implement changes Provide clear status updates and technical insights to project leadership Support team development by sharing VXLAN and modern network design knowledge Document existing configurations and new architecture thoroughly Required Qualifications 5+ years of hands‑on Cisco networking experience Strong expertise with switches, routers, firewalls, and network security devices Proven ability to troubleshoot complex network issues Excellent teamwork and communication skills Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment Preferred Qualifications CCNA certification (highly desirable) CCNP or Cisco Security certification Experience with VXLAN architecture or modern network design Healthcare or hospital IT experience Experience mentoring junior network engineers Technical Skills Cisco
