We help clients protect their data, recover value from retired equipment, and recycle electronics responsibly. The Role We are looking for a detail-oriented Computer Processing Technician to process a high volume of laptops, desktops, and servers at our Mountainside warehouse. You will inspect equipment, complete assigned testing and processing steps, and accurately record each device's specifications, condition, and processing results in our inventory and tracking system (ERP). This role requires a steady pace and careful work. You should be comfortable repeating a process across many devices in a day while keeping devices, labels, and records matched correctly. Responsibilities Process multiple laptops, desktops, and servers each day, meeting assigned production goals while maintaining accurate records and following required procedures. Verify each device's make, model, serial number, asset tag, and job assignment before processing. Inspect physical condition and complete assigned functional tests, such as power-on, display, keyboard, ports, battery, and server component checks, as applicable to the device. Record defects and test results. Perform approved data erasure or route storage media to the data destruction team as assigned. Verify completion status and escalate failed or incomplete results. Enter and update device specifications, condition grades, test results, processing status, and warehouse locations in the ERP system. Clean and label equipment, and complete approved component removal or replacement as instructed. Keep removed storage media correctly labeled and tracked. Separate completed, incomplete, and exception devices. Route equipment to resale, repair, parts recovery, or recycling only after required processing and data security steps are complete. Keep workstations organized, communicate delays or recurring issues, and assist with other warehouse tasks as needed. Qualifications Required Strong attention to detail when entering data, checking device labels, and recording specifications and results. Comfort using computers, entering information accurately, and learning testing software and ERP workflows. Ability to stay organized while managing several devices at different stages of processing. Ability to follow a repeatable process and maintain focus throughout a full shift. Interest in computer and server hardware and willingness to learn basic testing and troubleshooting. Dependability, punctuality, and the ability to work independently and with a team. Willingness to follow data security and safe handling procedures and ask questions when unsure. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand, bend, and move as required throughout the shift. Preferred but not required Experience processing, testing, repairing, or refurbishing laptops, desktops, and servers. Familiarity with processors, RAM, hard drives, SSDs, BIOS settings, and common computer and server components. Experience in ITAD, electronics recycling, computer repair, inventory management, or production work. Experience using an ERP system, hardware diagnostics, or data erasure software. Formal IT certifications and direct ITAD experience are not required. We welcome applicants with transferable skills and an interest in learning. Room to Grow You will build experience in computer and server testing, data destruction procedures, inventory management, and preparing equipment for resale. As Reboot grows, strong performers may have opportunities to advance into lead processing, testing and repair, data destruction, or operations roles.
