We are a growing IT consulting firm specializing in small to medium size businesses. We serve our clients by managing their IT infrastructure from providing server support to troubleshooting a broken mouse. The work demands travel to the client's offices located in Westchester, Queens, Manhattan, and NJ. Some remote work will be available. We are currently seeking a part-time field technician. Please do not apply if you are seeking a full-time position. Students currently attending a technical college are encouraged to apply. The technician is responsible for effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software and related infrastructure. This individual participates in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation for our clients. This individual ensures that system hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related procedures adhere to organizational values.

Requirements:

• A love of technology and troubleshooting
• Self-motivated
• Strong interpersonal skills. You must be able to develop strong relationships with clients.
• College degree or currently enrolled
• Excellent written skills. All work must be documented.
• A reliable vehicle (75% travel to client sites) and you must have a clean driving record
• Minimum of 1 years of IT experiences installing and configuring Windows OS (10 Pro, Server, etc ...)
• Strong troubleshooting skills
• Install new / rebuild existing servers and configure hardware, peripherals, services, and settings.

Technical Requirements:

• Microsoft Servers and Workstations
• Mac OS X
• Networking (TCP/IP)
• Backup and related technologies
• Hardware repairs

Pluses:

• MCP certification a plus
• VMWare
• Knowledge of switching, routing, and/or wireless

Running Ethernet Cabling:

• Experience running CAT6 cabling
• Understanding how to mount equipment and use general tools

Hours:

• The work hours are flexible
• Some evening work is necessary
• There is occasional work on the weekend
