Job Description

Summary We're seeking an experienced IT Support Specialist II (Deskside & Remote Support) to provide hands-on technology support across the organization. This role provides deskside support at Kennedy Headquarters and remote support for branch offices and remote users. Reporting to the Information Technology Manager, the specialist is responsible for responding to user requests, prioritizing work according to urgency and business impact, troubleshooting workplace technology, managing assigned technology assets, and performing routine user and device administration. The IT Support Specialist II works closely with the Information Technology Manager, Kennedy leadership, business users, technology vendors, and shared technology service providers to deliver reliable technology services and support business operations. This role requires strong technical troubleshooting skills, excellent customer service, clear communication, sound judgment, and the ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with internal and external technology partners. Responsibilities Respond to employee support requests and set priorities based on urgency, business impact, and the number of people affected. Communicate expected next steps and follow requests through resolution. Provide in-person deskside support at Kennedy Headquarters and remote technical support to branch offices and remote users. Support Windows computers, business applications, monitors, docking stations, printers, mobile devices, and other workplace technology. Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, operating system, performance, and end-user connectivity issues. Document findings and escalate issues that require additional expertise. Perform routine Active Directory tasks, including account and computer updates, password resets, account unlocks, group membership, and approved access changes. Support employee onboarding, role changes, and offboarding by preparing equipment, coordinating approved access updates, and recovering company devices. Deploy, configure, maintain, update, and replace desktops and laptops using established tools and procedures. Configure and troubleshoot printers, print queues, drivers, and print server connections. Set up and support mobile phones, including email, business applications, and authentication tools. Assist employees with multifactor authentication enrollment and troubleshooting, following identity verification and security procedures. Complete assigned support and project work with minimal supervision; communicate progress, dependencies, and obstacles. Coordinate with IT leadership and vendors when additional assistance is needed, providing relevant troubleshooting steps and findings. Maintain clear documentation of support requests, troubleshooting steps, and resolutions. Contribute to process documentation, knowledge-sharing materials, and statements of work as needed. Maintain accurate inventory records for computers, mobile devices, peripherals, and other assigned technology assets. Assist with equipment lifecycle activities including deployment, replacement, recovery, and disposal. Follow company cybersecurity policies and procedures, assist with identifying and reporting security-related issues, and support approved remediation efforts affecting end-user devices, accounts, and access. Provide occasional after-hours support for urgent incidents, scheduled maintenance, or project work. Required Qualifications Five years of experience preferred; equivalent combination of experience, technical aptitude, and demonstrated ability considered. Ability to resolve routine and moderately complex support issues with minimal day-to-day supervision. Hands-on experience supporting Windows desktops and laptops, Active Directory users and computers, Microsoft 365 applications, printers, and peripherals. Working knowledge of on-premises Active Directory and Microsoft Entra ID in a hybrid environment, including common account, authentication, and synchronization issues. Familiarity with Microsoft 365 administration, including common user-support activities involving Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, licensing, and account management. Experience deploying computers, supporting mobile devices, and assisting with multifactor authentication. Understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, Wi-Fi, and VPN for initial end-user connectivity troubleshooting. Strong customer service, communication, organization, and follow-through. Sound judgment when handling access, confidential information, and security-related requests. Ability to provide on-site support at Kennedy Headquarters and participate in occasional scheduled evening, weekend, or urgent after-hours support. Preferred Qualifications Experience with Microsoft Intune, Windows Autopilot, Configuration Manager, or similar endpoint deployment and management tools. Familiarity with Group Policy troubleshooting and mobile device management. Basic PowerShell skills for repeatable support tasks. Relevant Microsoft, CompTIA, or equivalent certifications. Relevant technical education or equivalent practical experience.
Pay:
$65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
