Job Description

The job You run our repair shop on E Main St in Alice during posted hours. Customers walk in or call with a broken phone, tablet, computer or game console. You check the device in, do the repair at the bench, test it, and hand it back working. You also keep the shop itself in order: clean, stocked and ready to open on time. Our prices are published on our website, the parts are stocked in the shop, and customers pay before work starts. You do not haggle, quote off the list, or chase money. Schedule and pay Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday, 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM. Closed Wednesday and Sunday. About 25 hours a week. These are the shop's posted hours, so they do not move. $10.00 to $15.00 per hour to start, paid as a W-2 employee. Where you start depends on how much of the repair list below you can do on day one without help. Pay goes up as you show you can handle the work on your own. What you have to be able to repair This is what our customers actually ask for, most common first: iPhone screens, iPhone 11 through iPhone 17, including Pro and Pro Max, LCD and OLED. This is the most common job by far. iPhone batteries.
Charge ports:
cleaning, and replacement when cleaning does not fix it. iPad screens, iPad 3rd through 10th generation. Windows laptops and desktops, software side: virus and malware removal, slow computers, Windows reinstall and updates, password resets, moving data to a new machine. Windows laptops and desktops, hardware side: screens, batteries, charging jacks, keyboards, storage drives, SSD and memory upgrades. A strong plus We get these every month. Tell us if you can do them: HDMI port replacement on PlayStation 5 and Xbox (soldering on the board). iPhone back glass. Samsung Galaxy and other Android screens. MacBook and iMac repair. Game controller repair (stick drift). Data recovery. Running the counter Open the shop on time and manage it through your shift. Answer the shop's repair line. Check every device in with photos and notes in our ticket system, and keep each ticket current until the device goes home. Explain the repair and the options to customers in plain language.
Sell accessories from the shelf:
chargers, cables, cases, screen protectors. Inspect phones that people bring in to sell, using our price guide. Send business customers who need office IT to our business side. Look up repairs you have not done before (repair guides, YouTube, forums) before you open the device. Take before and after photos and short clips of repairs for our social media. Shop upkeep (part of the job, every shift) Keep the shop clean: floors, counters, glass and trash, inside and at the front door. Keep the repair bench, tools and parts shelves organized and labeled. Everything goes back where it lives. Count the parts inventory every week and report what is running low. Follow up on part orders so repairs finish when we said they would. Report anything broken, missing or out of stock the same day. Close the shop properly at the end of the shift. What we are looking for Hands-on experience in at least two of these: phone repair, tablet repair, laptop repair, desktop repair. You can open a current iPhone and close it again with no marks, no lost screws and Face ID still working. You are on time, every shift. The door opens at 1:00 PM on every posted day. You are careful with other people's property: customers' devices, parts, tools and the shop. You can work on your own and keep the day moving without being told what is next. Clear, friendly, plain talk with customers. Spanish is a plus. Reliable transportation. Two references from people who supervised your work. What we provide Tools, parts and bench equipment. Training on our ticket system and on how we do each repair. How to apply Apply here with your resume. In your application, tell us which of the six repairs above you have done for paying customers and roughly how many times. Finalists do a short hands-on bench test at the shop, and we pay you for that time. NPC Sales is the walk-in repair side of North Point Computers, serving Alice since 2000.
