IT & ERP
Systems Specialist to support the continuous operation of its 24/7 manufacturing facility. The primary responsibility of this position is to ensure that SAP Business One and all ERP-related manufacturing, inventory, warehouse, traceability, receiving and shipping processes operate correctly, reliably and continuously. This is not a traditional office-only IT position. The successful candidate will work directly with production, warehouse, shipping and receiving teams and will support SAP Business One with RFID equipment, barcode systems, printers, scanners, workstations and in-house ERP applications.
PRIMARY MISSION
: Keep ERP, inventory, traceability, warehouse and production-support systems operating accurately and reliably around the clock.
Critical Responsibilities:
SAP Business One Manufacturing ERP Operations 1
Manage and support the day-to-day operation of SAP Business One within the manufacturing facility. 2
Ensure SAP B1 processes supporting production, inventory, warehouse operations, receiving and shipping are functioning correctly. 3
Monitor and troubleshoot ERP-related problems affecting manufacturing operations and resolve issues with appropriate urgency. 4
Work directly with production, warehouse, shipping, receiving and management personnel to correct system or transaction issues. 5
Coordinate with external SAP consultants, software developers or service providers when advanced support is required. 6
Assist with testing and implementation of SAP B1 improvements, integrations, reports and new functionality. Inventory, RFID, Barcode & Traceability Systems Maintain the accuracy and reliable operation of systems supporting: 7
Raw material and finished goods inventory 8-Warehouse stock movements and production-related inventory transactions 9
Goods Receipt, Goods Issue and delivery preparation/posting 10
Barcode printing and scanning 11-RFID tunnels, readers, antennas and RFID label printing 12
Pallet and product identification 13
Warehouse and production traceability 14-Handheld terminals, production workstations and label-generation systems The position is expected to actively identify situations where physical inventory movements and ERP transactions are not synchronized and work with the departments responsible to correct the underlying process, system or training issue. ERP User Support & Training 1
Provide day-to-day support to employees using SAP Business One and in house ERP applications. 2
Conduct structured training for new employees and refresher training when process changes or recurring user errors require it. 3
Prepare clear operating instructions and standard procedures for ERP-related processes. 4
Ensure employees understand the correct SAP transactions for production, inventory, receiving and shipping. 5
Identify recurring user mistakes and work with department supervisors to eliminate them through training or process/system improvements. Secondary Responsibilities
Local IT Infrastructure Support and maintain local IT and production-support infrastructure, including: 1
Servers, client PCs and industrial workstations 2-Ethernet networks, routers, switches, Wi-Fi and firewalls 3
Network racks, patch panels and structured cables 4
Printers, barcode printers, barcode readers/scanners and handheld terminals 5
RFID readers, antennas, printers and labels 6
Security cameras, NVR systems and access-control systems 7-Other computers, network and ERP-related equipment used throughout the facility Hands-On Installation & Maintenance This is a hands-on position. The candidate should be comfortable installing, configuring, troubleshooting or coordinating the installation of: 1
Ethernet cabling, network outlets, terminations and patch panels 2
Network racks, switches, routers and wireless access points 3
Computers, production workstations, printers and barcode systems 4
RFID readers, antennas and related production-floor equipment 5
Security cameras, NVR systems and access-control equipment The candidate should be able to diagnose whether an operational problem originates from the ERP software, database/application layer, network, workstation, printer, scanner, RFID equipment or another connected device.
24/7 Manufacturing Environment Company operates a 24/7 manufacturing facility, and ERP availability is critical to production and warehouse operations. The person in this role will be accountable for maintaining the reliability of ERP-related systems and for responding appropriately to critical system issues that could interrupt production, inventory transactions, receiving, shipping, RFID tracking, barcode operations, product identification or traceability. The position requires flexibility and availability for after-hours or emergency support when manufacturing critical systems are affected. The objective is not simply to repair systems after they fail, but to proactively maintain the infrastructure so ERP-related interruptions to production are minimized. Required Qualifications
Practical experience supporting SAP Business One in a business or manufacturing environment.
Strong understanding of inventory, warehouse and goods movement transactions.
Ability to troubleshoot ERP, hardware, printing, scanning and network-related problems.
Experience supporting Windows PCs and business applications.
Working knowledge of Ethernet networks, TCP/IP, switches, routers and firewalls.
Experience with barcode printers and scanners.
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills with the ability to prioritize production-critical issues.
Ability to communicate technical issues clearly to non
technical employees and provide effective user training.
Comfortable working in both office and manufacturing-floor environments.
Willingness to perform hands-on installation, maintenance and troubleshooting work. Preferred Qualifications
SAP Business One in a manufacturing environment
SAP B1 production, inventory and warehouse processes
Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) or Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES)
RFID-based inventory or traceability systems
Industrial barcode and labeling systems
ERP integrations and SQL databases/reporting
Windows Server and network administration
Firewall configuration, CCTV/NVR systems and electronic access-control systems
High reliability and uptime of SAP B1 and ERP-related manufacturing processes
Accurate inventory transactions and synchronization between physical movements and ERP records, Reliable operation of RFID, barcode, printing and scanning systems
Minimal ERP-related production interruptions and fast resolution of manufacturing
critical IT problems, Reliable Goods Receipt, inventory movement and Delivery processes
Effective training of ERP users and reduction of repeated transaction errors
Preventive maintenance and organization of the facility IT infrastructure
Effective coordination with external SAP, software and IT service providers Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is a hands-on manufacturing IT professional who understands that, in a modern factory, ERP is part of the production infrastructure.
This person should be equally comfortable investigating an incorrect SAP inventory transaction, troubleshooting an RFID tunnel, configuring a barcode printer, checking a network switch on the production floor, training a warehouse employee, or coordinating a complex SAP issue with an external consultant.
Work Environment Conditions:
The manufacturing floor is typically noisy. Climates and seasons can determine a fluctuating temperature which leads to the floor being both very hot and cold.
