Overview We are seeking a seasoned Senior Systems Engineer to join our Projects team at a growing Managed Service Provider (MSP). This role owns technical projects end to end — from new client onboarding to private cloud infrastructure builds — across a portfolio of client environments simultaneously. This is not an entry-level or single-organization IT role: we're looking for someone who has spent their career specifically inside an MSP, comfortable managing a high volume of concurrent projects, and fluent across networking, virtualization, cloud infrastructure, Microsoft 365, and security tooling. Just as important as the technical skill set: we're a close-knit team, and we're looking for someone who genuinely wants to be part of one — communicative, collaborative, and easy to work alongside, not a lone operator. Key Responsibilities Client & Onboarding Projects Lead new client onboarding projects: assimilating a client's existing environment, configuring their Microsoft 365 tenant, reviewing and configuring firewalls, implementing spam filtering and mailbox/SharePoint backup solutions, and coordinating handoff with a client's outgoing IT vendor. Manage multiple concurrent client and internal projects without dropping the ball on any of them. Cloud & Infrastructure Build and configure cloud environments, including RDS/terminal server setups, virtual desktop provisioning, and large-scale data migrations. Hands-on VMware experience required. Working knowledge of server hardware — you'll be supporting infrastructure in our own data facility, and our Director of Projects needs someone he can hand that off to with confidence. Strong, independent networking skills — configuring and troubleshooting firewalls (SonicWall) and broader network infrastructure. Microsoft & Cloud Platforms Deep, hands-on Microsoft 365 tenant administration and migration experience. Azure, Entra ID, and Intune experience required. Teams deployment and management experience. Security & Tooling Experience with endpoint security platforms (SentinelOne) and firewall/security management (SonicWall). ConnectWise experience required — this is core to how our Projects team operates day to day. Vendor & Internal Project Coordination Coordinate internal projects such as office wiring installs (alongside our wiring vendor) and phone system integrations (Vonage/VoIP). Partner with internal teams and outside vendors to keep multi-party projects moving on schedule. Client Support & Escalations Serve as an escalation point from the help desk on project-related and technical issues. Communicate directly and confidently with clients on technical topics, verbally and in writing. Requirements Minimum 10 years of IT experience, specifically within a Managed Service Provider (MSP) environment. General corporate or single-organization systems administration experience does not translate to this role and will not be considered equivalent.

Hands-on experience required with:

VMware, ConnectWise, Microsoft 365 administration, Azure, Entra ID, Intune, Teams, SentinelOne, and SonicWall. Strong networking fundamentals and independent firewall configuration experience. Excellent written and verbal communication skills — documentation quality matters as much as technical execution. A genuine team player who wants to be part of a collaborative group, not a lone operator.
