Python Full Job Description Position:
Physical Security Systems Engineer Location:
Emmaus, PA Job Type:
Full-Time TWG Security turns passive security systems into proactive ones. Since 2007, we've designed, installed, and serviced integrated enterprise security for organizations across Eastern PA and NJ — recognized by Inc. 5000 and Lehigh Valley Business as one of the fastest-growing companies in our industry and region. We partner with Motorola Solutions/Avigilon, Verkada, Axis, Network Optix, Genea, Peplink, and Software House to give clients big-player capability with local, face-to-face service. The Physical Security Systems Engineer is the technical lead on a project once it has been sold. You take the system from engineering handoff through configuration, commissioning, integration, documentation, client training, and turnover. The Project Manager owns schedule, labor, and logistics. You own the technology. A significant portion of the role is system integration — connecting video, access control, intrusion, and client business systems to each other, frequently at the API level. TWG also builds internal integrations and automation against the platforms we run the company on, and this position contributes to that work. Our technology stack changes regularly. The role requires learning unfamiliar platforms independently rather than specializing in a single manufacturer. Local commutable candidates to the Lehigh Valley, PA Only (No 3 party applications) Primary Duties and Responsibilities Review sold scope, drawings, BOMs, network requirements, and system architecture; identify technical gaps before deployment. Develop the technical implementation plan with the Project Manager. Configure and commission video surveillance, access control, and intrusion systems Build integrations between security platforms and client business systems, including API-level work Design, configure, and troubleshoot supporting networks: routing, switching, VLANs, subnetting, DHCP/DNS, PoE budgeting, firewalls, VPNs, wireless, point-to-point links, LTE/5G, and multi-WAN failover Build and administer Linux servers and storage: Ubuntu/Debian CLI, RAID, retention and bandwidth calculations, backups, and remote administration Serve as the technical escalation point for field technicians and project teams Coordinate with client IT departments on network, server, and cybersecurity requirements Manage licensing, firmware, manufacturer escalations, and RMAs Deliver client training and complete technical system turnover Maintain network diagrams, IP schemas, configurations, as-builts, and service documentation Contribute to TWG's internal integrations, automation, and technology tooling Required Qualifications 5+ years in networking, systems integration, IT infrastructure, or security technology Networking fundamentals: routing, switching, VLANs, subnetting, DHCP/DNS, PoE, firewalls, and wireless Ubuntu/Debian Linux administration, including command-line troubleshooting Hands-on IP video surveillance experience Working knowledge of commercial access control systems Ability to read API documentation and reason about how systems exchange data — REST, webhooks, authentication. Software development experience is not required Ability to troubleshoot across cabling, devices, networks, servers, software, and integrations Effective communication with field technicians, clients, IT departments, and manufacturers Valid driver's license and ability to travel to client sites within approximately 2.5 hours of Emmaus, PA Preferred Qualifications Integration and automation: Python or Bash;
