The Database Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining data-driven solutions that support our organization's data management and analytics initiatives. Your expertise in data integration, ETL processes, and database technologies will play a key role in delivering high-quality data solutions and driving data-driven decision-making across the organization.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Data Solution Development Design and develop data-driven solutions, including data integration processes, ETL workflows, and data transformation pipelines. Collaborate with business analysts, data scientists, and other stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate them into technical specifications. Develop and maintain data models, database schemas, and data dictionaries to ensure accurate and efficient data storage and retrieval. Implement data quality checks and validation processes to ensure data integrity and accuracy. Data Integration and ETL Design and implement data integration processes to extract data from various sources, transform it into a consistent format, and load it into target systems. Develop and maintain ETL workflows and scripts using industry-standard tools and frameworks. Optimize data integration processes for performance, scalability, and reliability. Monitor and troubleshoot data integration jobs, identifying and resolving issues and performance bottlenecks. Database Development and Management Design, develop, and maintain database structures and schemas to support data storage and retrieval needs. Write efficient SQL queries, stored procedures, and functions to extract, transform, and load data. Optimize database performance through indexing, query optimization, and performance tuning techniques. Ensure data security and compliance by implementing appropriate access controls and data protection measures. Data Governance and Documentation Contribute to data governance initiatives by defining and enforcing data standards, policies, and procedures. Document data integration processes, ETL workflows, and database structures to facilitate knowledge sharing and maintain system documentation. Collaborate with data stewards and data owners to ensure data quality, consistency, and compliance with regulatory requirements. Collaboration and Continuous Improvement Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data analysts, business intelligence developers, and data scientists, to understand their data requirements and support their analytics needs. Stay updated on emerging trends and technologies in data management, ETL, and database technologies. Identify opportunities for process improvement, automation, and innovation, and contribute to the continuous improvement of data services within the organization.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent work experience). Proven experience as a Developer III or a similar role, demonstrating strong expertise in data integration, ETL processes, and database development. In-depth knowledge of data management principles, data integration best practices, and database technologies (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL). SKILLS Experience with ETL tools and frameworks (e.g., Python, Informatica, SSIS, Talend, JSON) and data integration patterns and methodologies. Proficiency in writing complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and functions. Strong understanding of data modeling concepts and techniques. Familiarity with data governance frameworks and data quality management practices. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to analyze complex data requirements and design optimal solutions. Strong attention to detail and the ability to work with large datasets effectively. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders at all levels.
LOCATION AND COMPENSATION
This role will be based in Bayview's Coral Gables or Fort Lauderdale Office. This role will be hybrid in office. Salary may vary based on work experience, market conditions, location, and qualifications/training.
