The preferred candidate would be located in Burnsville, NC. In this position, the selected candidate will have the opportunity to be involved in the documentation of utility body parts. EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED
ABET EAC-certified Bachelor's Degree in Engineering OR Master of Science in Engineering from a college that offers ABET EAC-certified BS degrees. OR Active PE license in the United States External candidates
  • Minimum of two (2) years' experience in an engineering role after meeting the above education requirements.
Applicable Masters counts as one year of experience. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must be able to work with team members and work with minimal supervision. Must be willing to travel up to 25% of the time, potentially on short notice, which may include flying. Experience with Altec utility bodies is strongly preferred . Responsibilities Lead, participate, and support continuous improvement efforts and events in the areas of Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost. Drive process and operational improvement through the implementation of the Altec Production System. Improve documentation efficiency by identifying and eliminating waste, improving quality, and supporting a safe work environment. Become an expert in utility body serviceability. Initiate and support cost reduction efforts through software, engineering documentation, and process improvements. Work closely with design and quality engineering, as well as Parts and Service to meet customer expectations. Knows and applies fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures in the engineering field. Supports Operations, Engineering, and Service.
