For more than five decades, AOA has been an important part of Monterey County. Today, we are an organization with a $2.7 million annual budget, a growing team, dedicated volunteers, and a strong commitment to expanding our impact as in the next decade the number of seniors living in Monterey County will increase by 60%. We are looking for an accounting expert who wants more than a job behind a spreadsheet. This is an opportunity to become an important part of a mission-driven organization and to play a meaningful role in strengthening the financial foundation that supports our programs and services. If you are someone who enjoys solving problems, brings a positive attitude to work each day, loves organizing information, completing tasks, improving systems, and knowing that the details you manage help an organization serve its community, you may be a great fit for AOA. Position Summary This position is primarily an Accountant, working approximately 28 hours per week directly with AOA's Chief Financial Officer (CFO), with approximately 12 hours per week supporting AOA's executive leadership as an Administrative Assistant within grant management, executive leadership support, scheduling, and front office functions. Accounting is the primary responsibility of the position. This is a hands-on role for someone who likes to roll up their sleeves, bring order to details, and keep things moving. You will play an important role in maintaining the accuracy and integrity of AOA's financial operations while working closely with the CFO and executive leadership. You will be responsible for maintaining accurate day-to-day accounting records, recording and organizing financial transactions, reconciling accounts, maintaining complete supporting documentation, and helping ensure that timely financial information is available when needed. You will also have the opportunity to identify issues, solve problems, improve organization, and help strengthen AOA's financial processes. Who We're Looking For We are looking for a positive, organized, task-oriented professional who takes pride in doing things correctly and enjoys seeing a job through to completion.
The ideal candidate is:
Highly organized and able to keep multiple priorities moving. Detail-oriented without losing sight of the bigger picture. A problem-solver who sees an issue and looks for a solution.
