  • You will be the Data Scientist Sr for the Data Science team.

Our team is responsible for designing, building, and deploying data‑science solutions that address real business challenges across multiple programs.

What You Will Be Doing

As the Data Scientist Sr you will be responsible for turning stakeholder needs into actionable models, guiding projects from prototype through production, and maintaining existing data‑science products.

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
  • Apply AI and data‑science techniques to support manufacturing‑operations programs.
  • Partner with stakeholders to define business problems and shape project direction.
  • Develop prototypes and advance them to minimum‑viable or final production‑ready products.
  • Maintain and enhance the legacy FORCE product suite to ensure continued value.
  • Support the 1LMX/EDE transition and ongoing operations & maintenance activities.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Completed Bachelors degree from an
    accredited college in Engineering, Computer
    Science, AI/Data Science/Analytics, or other Engineering discipline.
  • Experience with structured and unstructured
    data for descriptive/diagnostic, predictive, and
    prescriptive analytical needs
  • Working level experience in SQL and Python
  • Some familiarity navigating, developing, and working with
EDW SAP HANA

database

Desired Skills:
  • Expertise navigating, developing, and working with
EDW SAP HANA

database

  • Extensive working knowledge developing in Tableau - data models, visualizations, maintenance
  • Experience with/in one or more of the
    Operations related business functions such as
    Prod Ops, Quality, PP&C, GSC, Engineering
  • Masters degree
  • Strong experience in MFC ERP systems
    (SAP, Apriso, etc)
  • Experience and competency implementing
    algorithms using packages and tools such as
    Keras, Tensorflow, Gensim, CUDA, Scikit Learn,
    SciPy, PyTorch
  • Experience with integration of data products
    into customer applications
  • Experience with or knowledge of data
    engineering and associated best practices, and
    software/data security considerations
  • Demonstrated creativity and innovation in
    identifying valuable ways of incorporating
    machine learning into business workflows and
    processes.
  • Previous experience in applying AI or any of the
    following machine learning areas to business
    problems: supervised regression/classification,
    natural language processing, deep learning,
    anomaly detection, reinforcement learning,
    computer vision

The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.

Work Schedules:

Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week

Pay Rate:

The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $104,900 - $184,920. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidates work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

Benefits offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.

This position is incentive plan eligible.

Pay Rate:

The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California, Massachusetts, and New York is $120,600 - $209,070. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidates work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
