Detail-oriented and curious about how electrical equipment works? Be the last check before our remote power panels ship. Contech USA builds custom power distribution equipment for commercial and industrial customers. We're a small, hands-on team in Goddard, and we're growing. Our Test Technicians make sure every remote power panel we build is wired right, safe, and working before it leaves the building, so the people who install it in the field can count on it. What you'll do Test completed remote power panels (RPPs) step by step using our written test procedures Check ground connections, voltage, phase rotation, breakers, and meters Learn high-voltage (hipot) and insulation testing, with full training and sign-off before you run them Inspect units against drawings and work instructions: wiring, connections, labels, hardware, and torque marks Connect and disconnect test equipment safely, and confirm units are de-energized before you touch them Record test results accurately at the time of test Stop, tag, and report any unit that fails, so problems never reach the customer Check that test equipment is in calibration before you use it Keep the test area clean, organized, and safe No test experience? That's OK. We'll train you on our test procedures, equipment, and electrical safety. Wiring or electrical assembly experience is a big plus. What we're looking for Comfortable using a multimeter to check voltage, continuity, and resistance A basic understanding of electricity: voltage, current, phases, and grounding The ability to read work instructions and basic wiring diagrams Accuracy with numbers, readings, and paperwork Follows procedures exactly, every time, even on repetitive work Speaks up when something doesn't look right Basic computer skills for entering test data Reliable attendance Electrical assembly, wiring, or technical school coursework is a plus High school diploma or GED required Room to grow Test Technician I is the first step on our three-level test career ladder. As you master every test, including high-voltage testing, and learn to troubleshoot failures, you can move up to Test Technician II and then Testing Lead. Advancement is based on the skills you show, and we'll tell you exactly what it takes.
