20-30% across the U.S. Job Summary We are seeking a Lead Mechanical Engineer to lead the design and development of cooling systems for next-generation AI/HPC data centers. This is an owner/developer role focused on high-density GPU cooling, chilled water systems, liquid cooling, heat rejection, and modular mechanical infrastructure. Key Responsibilities Lead mechanical cooling strategy and design standards across multiple data center projects Design chilled water plants, chillers, pumps, heat rejection, and liquid cooling systems Support high-density GPU deployments of 75-150+ kW/rack Lead mechanical design from concept through IFC Coordinate with MEP, BIM, structural, electrical, controls, and construction teams Review engineering deliverables and manage RFIs, design changes, and value engineering Support testing, commissioning, FAT, flushing, hydraulic testing, and site inspections Perform CFD modeling and thermal capacity analysis Lead mechanical engineering teams and manage equipment vendors Required Qualifications 10+ years of mechanical/cooling engineering experience in data centers Experience with hyperscale, AI, or HPC data centers Strong knowledge of chilled water systems, chillers, liquid cooling, and heat rejection Experience leading engineering teams and MEP consultants Knowledge of
ASHRAE TC
9.9, IMC, ASME, and NFPA Experience developing Basis of Design documents, specifications, and engineering standards Strong vendor management and procurement experience Willingness to travel 20-30% Preferred Qualifications PE License or Chartered Engineer credential Modular/prefabricated mechanical systems experience CFD experience with 6SigmaET, Ansys Icepak, or FloTHERM Revit/BIM experience Medium-voltage chiller experience 800VDC data center architecture knowledge Owner/developer-side experience Large-scale chilled water plant commissioning experience AI/HPC high-density GPU cooling experience How to Apply Send your updated resume to
