Job Description

Position Overview CDI is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Project Manager / Project Engineer to support the Project Manager and Superintendent team in the management of a large-scale data center project in Muskogee, Oklahoma. This position will have a combination of office and field responsibilities. The successful candidate must be comfortable working in both environments and understand that effective project management requires staying connected to what is happening in the field. The APM/PE will assist with project documentation, plan review, Bluebeam markups, coordination, scheduling, procurement, cost tracking, site logistics, and communication between CDI's project management and field teams. Because this is a highly constrained site with multiple data center buildings under construction, the ability to quickly understand changing site conditions and communicate those changes accurately will be critical. Key Responsibilities Support the Project Manager with day-to-day project management activities. Work closely with Superintendents to coordinate field operations. Review construction drawings, specifications, and project documents. Perform detailed plan review and identify conflicts or discrepancies. Assist with project scheduling and updating short-term schedules. Track material deliveries and procurement activities. Assist with subcontractor and vendor coordination. Prepare meeting agendas, meeting minutes, and project documentation. Maintain accurate project records. Assist with change order documentation and pricing. Track quantities, costs, labor, and materials. Review daily reports and field documentation. Assist with pay applications and monthly billing. Coordinate with the Superintendent team to verify completed work. Support quality control and project closeout activities. Attend project meetings with Whiting-Turner, subcontractors, vendors, and other project stakeholders. Communicate project issues to the Project Manager and assist in developing solutions. Maintain organized electronic project files. Participate in site walks and field coordination meetings. Perform other project management duties as assigned. Bluebeam & Plan Coordination Strong Bluebeam skills are highly preferred for this position. The Muskogee project will require the site layout and logistics plans to be continuously updated as construction progresses. The APM/PE will be expected to: Review plans electronically. Mark up drawings. Document field changes. Track revisions. Overlay drawings when necessary. Communicate changes to the field team. Assist with maintaining current site logistics plans. Help ensure the field team is working from the most current information. Candidates who are comfortable working extensively in Bluebeam will be highly valued. What We're Looking For The ideal candidate will have: 2-5 years of commercial construction experience, preferably with a General Contractor. Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or a related field preferred. Strong understanding of construction documents. Ability to read and interpret architectural, civil, structural, and MEP drawings. Strong computer skills. Strong organizational and communication skills. Experience with Bluebeam preferred. Experience with Procore or other construction management software preferred. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Strong attention to detail. Ability to work independently while also functioning as part of a team. Willingness to spend time in the field. Willingness to travel and work in Oklahoma for the duration of the project. Data Center Experience Data center experience is preferred but not required. Experience with any of the following is also valuable: Large commercial construction Industrial construction Manufacturing facilities Mission-critical construction Site logistics Civil/site development MEP coordination Large-scale infrastructure projects The Right Person for This Job We are looking for someone who wants to become a strong construction project manager, not someone who simply wants an office position. The right candidate will be willing to get out of the trailer, walk the site, understand what the Superintendent and trades are dealing with, and use that knowledge to improve project coordination.
You should be:
Detail-oriented. Organized. Proactive. A problem solver. A strong communicator. Comfortable in the field. Willing to learn. Accountable. You should also be comfortable asking questions, taking ownership of assignments, and following an issue through to completion. Travel & Compensation This is a full-time position based in Muskogee, Oklahoma, with travel required. CDI offers a competitive compensation package based on experience and qualifications, including applicable travel, lodging, and per diem benefits. As CDI continues to expand its data center operations, there will be opportunities for advancement into Project Manager and other leadership positions. Career Growth This position is part of CDI's larger strategy to establish a strong presence in the Oklahoma data center market. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to grow with the company as CDI expands into additional data center projects and potentially develops multiple project teams in the Oklahoma market. We are looking for individuals who want to build a career with CDI—not simply complete a project and move on. Why Join CDI? CDI is growing, and this is an opportunity to join the company during an exciting period of expansion. You will have the opportunity to work directly with experienced project managers and superintendents while gaining hands-on experience managing a complex, multi-building data center project. If you are ready to take the next step in your construction management career and want to be part of a growing team, we want to hear from you. Apply today to join Construction Dynamics, Inc.
