Job Description
•Contract role
•A leading engineering, procurement and construction firm is adding a Senior Electrical Engineer to its data center practice in Tualatin (Portland area) on a contract-to-hire basis. The full-time assignment (40 hours/week) runs through an estimated April 2027, with conversion to a permanent role for the right candidate.
Location:
Onsite 5 days/week at the firm's Tualatin, OR office. The role is also open at the firm's other U.S.
offices:
Overland Park, KS; Ann Arbor, MI; Bloomington, MN; Canonsburg, PA; Cary, NC; Dallas, TX; Darien, IL; Denver, CO; Houston, TX; Orlando, FL; and Phoenix, AZ. Responsibilities Lead detailed electrical design of large-scale (hyperscale) data center environments; may lead the design team
Work with engineering project teams and field personnel to deliver projects on scope, budget and schedule
Advise on design risk factors for redundancy and resiliency
Conduct field surveys and assess existing facilities
Prepare and review technical drawings, models, engineering studies, reports and detailed calculations
Mentor and supervise junior engineers and designers
Coordinate directly with clients, which include many of the top companies in the data center industry
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited program
11+ years of related experience
Required:
prior experience on hyperscale data centers of at least 40 MW
Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit and BIM (BIM 360, Navisworks, Revit work sets and view templates a plus)
PE license preferred (or actively pursuing)
Understanding of hyperscale, edge and colocation design differences and data center tier ratings preferred
Strong written and verbal communication skills for direct client interaction
Must be able to work onsite 5 days/week at one of the listed offices
