Job Description
This is a hands-on opportunity supporting data center construction and deployment, with a strong focus on fiber optic and copper cabling installation. The standout feature is the opportunity to work directly with structured cabling infrastructure in an active data center environment, including cable pulling, routing, termination, testing, and troubleshooting. This role is ideal for technicians with structured cabling, telecom, fiber, or data center construction experience who take pride in safe, high-quality workmanship. Required Skills & Experience Previous experience with structured cabling, telecommunications, fiber optics, or data center construction Experience pulling and installing fiber optic and copper cabling Experience terminating copper cabling, including jacks, patch panels, and connectors Ability to test and troubleshoot fiber and copper cabling Ability to read and follow construction drawings, cable schedules, and work instructions Ability to work safely in an active construction environment Ability to work 12-hour shifts, including day or night shifts Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship Desired Skills & Experience Experience using Fluke, VIAVI, EXFO, or similar testing equipment What You Will Be Doing Pull, route, dress, and secure fiber optic and copper cabling Install cabling through ladder rack, cable tray, conduit, innerduct, and other approved pathways Port and connect fiber optic cabling while ensuring proper routing and polarity Terminate copper cabling, including jacks, patch panels, and connectors Test fiber and copper cabling using Fluke, VIAVI, EXFO, or similar test equipment Troubleshoot cabling and connectivity issues, including fiber loss, failed terminations, and polarity issues Read and follow construction drawings, cable schedules, and work instructions Maintain a clean and organized work area Follow all site-specific safety, PPE, security, and quality requirements Work effectively in an active construction environment while meeting established production and quality expectations Tech Breakdown Fiber Optic Cabling Copper Cabling Structured Cabling Cable Tray / Ladder Rack Conduit / Innerduct Copper Termination Fiber Testing Fluke / VIAVI / EXFO Fiber Troubleshooting Data Center Construction Daily Responsibilities Pull and install fiber optic and copper cabling Route, dress, secure, and port cabling through approved pathways Terminate and test copper cabling Test and troubleshoot fiber and copper connections Identify and resolve cabling, termination, loss, and polarity issues Follow drawings, cable schedules, and work instructions Maintain safety, quality, cleanliness, and productivity standards Coordinate effectively within an active data center construction environment
