SIS Administration Role State Reporting Accountability Objective:
To provide inclusion and pull out based special education support for students.
Responsibilities:
Essential functions of the job may include but are not limited to the following: Serve as the Districts Student Information System (PowerSchool) Administrator,maintaining all aspects of the database system. Train staff on proper PowerSchool data entry procedures and the use of reporting tools. Write custom queries, reports, and data exports as needed; Ensure the integrity of student academic records by creating documentation and developing effective processes to facilitate database use; Facilitate the accurate transmission of this data for state and federal reporting (including but not limited to SIMS, EPIMS, SCS, SSDR, and CRDC); Support all buildings in scheduling, grade input, and reporting, as well as data rollover for new school year; Manages data exchange between district software vendors including massaging data for imports and exports; Creates field sets, templates and queries as determined in the SIS; Provides data analysis and leads data meetings with staff and administration in order to inform decision making; Administrator of the DESE Security Portal; Import student testing data for use in analysis tools (Google Sheets); Work with the Technology Department to ensure Clever integration with PowerSchool; Maintain PowerSchool Parent Portal including sending information to new parents/guardians, assisting parents with access to the portal and disabling portal accounts; Assists in the coordination of Student Registration held throughout the district by building and maintaining a data for parent submissions; Assist in the maintenance of the BBRSD website by managing user accounts and the Online Student Registration pages;
Required Qualifications:
Student Information System experience MA DESE Security Portal / Reporting System Advanced knowledge of Excel and relational database technologies (MS SQL) Data extraction, reporting, and analysis tools Work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines while managing multiple projects Be detail-oriented and work collaboratively and effectively in a team environment Communicate clearly both orally and in writing Maintain confidentiality of staff and student records Interact effectively with school staff, administrators, parents, vendors and
MA DESE Desired Qualifications:
Knowledge of Student Information Systems such as Infinite Campus, Aspen or PowerSchool Able to work within deadline schedules and able to develop project timelines while communicating timelines and deadlines to appropriate parties Experience operating technology based programs that are interconnected and relied on by individuals and organizations. 5-10 Years of experience with data base systems, school and educational database preferred Able to work independently to resolve critical data issues Able to communicate effectively to school administrators regarding needs of schools Experience with training adults on technology applications
