Senior Automation Analyst
Job Description
Bachelor's degree in information systems, computer science, business administration or a related field; three years of experience in the implementation and support of business information systems including technical support, supporting multiple systems in Public Safety environments; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Experience in a Public Safety operations environment with computer aided dispatch (CAD) software, CAD mapping applications, CAD provisioning data, manipulating configuration menus and unit/apparatus capability changes in CAD, computer networking, and SQL databases. Also working knowledge of E9-1-1 phone and public safety radio systems. Must possess working knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Windows Server, and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Pursuant to requirements of the Virginia Criminal Information Network, all persons selected for employment must be a U.S. citizen or have been a lawful resident of the United States for the past ten consecutive years and cannot be a convicted felon. Current valid driver's license and good driving record required. Based on the Virginia DMV point system, records must not reflect a total of six or more demerit points within the twenty-four months preceding the anticipated hire date, or one major violation of six demerit points within the preceding thirty-six months. Out-of-state driving records must be obtained by the applicant and presented at time of interview. Records must reflect at least three years of history and be dated within thirty days of interview date. Pre-employment drug testing, vision and hearing screening, psychological evaluation, FBI criminal background investigation and education/verification required. This position is considered Safety Sensitive and is subject to random drug and alcohol testing. This position is subject to working in high security areas governed by the US Department of Justice's "Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) Security Policy" and therefore requires successfully passing a more stringent criminal background check. Must be a US citizen or have been a lawful resident of the US for the past ten consecutive years. Responsible for security and maintenance within the Motorola Premier-One Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) system for the Police, Fire, and Sheriff Departments. Manage equipment issues within the department's primary and backup facilities, to include CAD, radios, and phones, in conjunction with the Technical Manager. Provide technical support to all departmental users for desktop computers, E9-1-1 phone system, and software applications. Manage the Public Safety notification system. Troubleshoot problems with each of these systems. Manage building security for the Emergency Communication Center. This position is required to be on-call for after-hours technical issues on a rotational basis.
