GIS Technician 1

Location:

Plainfield, IN Contract duration: 3-year contract, possibility of extension or conversion Responsibilities

• Maintain and support the company's GIS system by posting, updating, and maintaining utility asset data for electric distribution.
• Review design drawings, maps, redlines, and related documentation and accurately model those assets in GIS.
• Gather, analyze, and maintain geospatial data used as the utility system's system of record.
• Identify, analyze, and resolve GIS data issues and discrepancies.
• Perform QA/QC activities to ensure GIS data accuracy and completeness.
• Correct data quality errors and verify compliance with GIS business rules and standards.
• Communicate with Work Order Owners, Designers, Engineers, and Field personnel to obtain missing information. Required Qualifications
• Minimum 2 years GIS experience required. Preferred Qualifications
• Strong background and demonstrated experience in ESRI products preferred.
• Experience in Smallworld preferred.
• Utility experience preferred.

GIS or related technical degree preferred.
